The Lady with the Gun Asks the Questions
The Lady with the Gun Asks the Questions: The ultimate Miss Phryne Fisher collection | Kerry Greenwood
7 posts | 6 read | 2 to read
The Honourable Phryne Fisher - she of the Lulu bob, Cupid's bow lips, diamante garters and pearl-handled pistol - is the 1920s' most elegant and irrepressible sleuth. Miss Phryne Fisher is up to her stunning green eyes in intriguing crime in each of these entertaining, fun and compulsively readable stories. With the ever-loyal Dot, the ingenious Mr Butler and all of Phryne's friends and household, the action is as fast as Phryne's wit and logic. 'With Phryne Fisher, the indefatigable Greenwood has invented the character-you-fall-in-love-with genre.' The Australian

On the homebound train. Can't wait for the weekend.
Sorry for the long silent, especially to my fellow #LotRChapterADay readers. It's an hellish period. I hope things will look up and in the new year, though.

I hope to finish Return of the King over Christmas. I'm behind with #TolkienChristmas but l expect to catch up tonight.
I have two #NetGalley ARCs expiring before the year ends, will probably manage to read just one.

Let's keep up! 💪😁

A bit of a disappointment because 12 of the 16 stories are the same stories in another Phryne Fisher collection 'A Question of Death' which I didn't realize when I bought this. But I enjoyed the new stories and the cover is gorgeous, as are all the covers in this series.

A fun collection featuring the intrepid Phryne Fisher. Love the books and the series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. The short stories show Phryne at her detecting best, but in short snippets. Fun read.

Nute I wanted to collect this series, but it‘s challenging to find these specific covers.😕 2y
Amie @Nute These are better than the tv show tie in covers, aren't they? The new one published last year and this one that just came out just have these covers, as far as I know. I managed to get the rest of the series with the original covers a few years ago just as the new ones were coming out. 2y
Nute I don‘t understand why the publisher discontinues prints of the original covers just because the tv show tie-in covers are available. I agree that the original covers are so much nicer for this series. I have discovered that the cover art matters a lot to me as the reader. The hope that one day I will find the original covers is definitely stopping me from buying this series. Probaby a ridiculous thing when you think about it.🥴 2y

Struggling to find time to read at the moment, but popped this one on as an audiobook on my commute home from work. A collection of short stories featuring the fabulous Phryne Fisher, it was guaranteed to make me smile.

EvieBee I didn‘t know there was a SS collection! I‘ll have to check it out. 3y
TheEllieMo @EvieBee I found it by accident a little while ago. It‘s a nice collection, I didn‘t feel like any of the stories were “fillers”, definitely worth a read 3y

Bk8 of April & Bk5 of #AwesomeApril #readathon is done! My final tally for the readathon wasn‘t quite the 48hrs I was hoping for(damn you migraine!) but I did manage 5 books and crossed off a lot of challenge prompts. And I got my first #bookspinBingo bingo! This anthology of Phryne Fisher short stories was fun, though I‘ve read a few of them already. Love the title🔫 #Booked2021 #NewIn2021 #SeriesRead2021 #HistoricalFiction #AussieAuthor21 👇👇
