Suicide Squad, Volume 1: Trial by Fire
Suicide Squad, Volume 1: Trial by Fire | John Ostrander
4 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
Just in time for the highly anticipated 2016 blockbuster film release, this collection is the definitive and explosive introduction to John Ostrander s modern SUICIDE SQUAD. It s up to the government to keep the bad guys in captivity-but Amanda Waller, a tough-as-nails federal agent, has other plans. She's heading up Task Force X (aka, the Suicide Squad) as an ultimatum to the world's most notorious super-villains. These criminals chew on a tricky bargain: either accept her devious, nearly impossible missions in the name of democracy, or rot in jail. And one other thing: most operatives don't make it back alive! Starring some of the most popular villains in the DCU forced into the role of unlikely antiheroes, SUICIDE SQUAD VOL. 1: TRIAL BY FIRE collects SUICIDE SQUAD #1-8 and SECRET ORIGINS #14."

Had a long chat with my brother about comics today! He's the expert on all things comic that I would enjoy, so my TBR list exploded as a result. Here are the first few on the list; probably have a lot of library reserves soon...

Tedious origin story but the actual start to the suicide squad series starts with a bang. Continuing with my new Deadshot obsession!

Can't wait to see Suicide Squad tonight! Fun fact about myself... I'm a figure skater/ dancer... Not just a pretty book face

BookishFeminist ❤️ I used to figure skate! I miss it. ⛸ 8y
OSChamberlain I used to play ice hockey!! I love ice skating :) 8y
Library-Belle @BookishFeminist I've skated competitively since I was three and I miss it so much but it took such a beating on my body that I basically reinjure myself every time I step on the ice because I don't know the meaning of taking it slow. The dance studio is now my go-to as I'm less likely to break something 8y
BookishFeminist @Library-Belle I know the feeling, both with it beating you up & not taking it slowly. Jumping wrecked my knees! I don't go often either but don't dance bc no one would want to see that- I was in skating way more for the athleticism than the artistry, which is probably the nice way to put it 🙊 8y
