Unfortunately #foodiefiction is not well represented in our household library (although I've stacked a couple books today and hope to remedy that soon). But my spouse and I have always celebrated authors' and artists' birthdays with meals inspired by their works. Of course, this Proustian book has an authentic recipe for a madeleine to dip in your tea if you are so inclined to let your memories waft away in an occasional cloud of tea-steam.
