The midpoint in the Pendragon series, Machale keeps readers guessing by throwing in twists and turns that leave me clinging to every page. I often find myself expecting a predictable plot development, but I am more often than not pleasantly fooled and surprised. The character of Saint Dane is truly a unique and complex one, and I never know what to expect from him, which is something I love in a villain.
