Kafka and the Doll | Larissa Theule
4 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
Based on a true story about Franz Kafka Inspired by a true story, Kafka and the Doll recounts a remarkable gesture of kindness from one of the world's most bewildering and iconic writers. In the fall of 1923, Franz Kafka encountered a distraught little girl on a walk in the park. She'd lost her doll and was inconsolable. Kafka told her the doll wasn't lost, but instead, traveling the world and having grand adventures! And to reassure her, Kafka began delivering letters from the doll to the girl for weeks. The legend of Kafka and the doll has captivated imaginations for decades as it reveals the playful and compassionate side of a man known for his dark and brooding tales. Kafka and the Doll is a testament to living life to the fullest and to the life-changing power of storytelling.

This one goes out to @vivastory 😊

Scott, this is what my cart looks like at the moment and these are all items I'm getting ready to add to our library's catalog.

The sheets of paper peeking out contain pricing info, ISBN, title, author, call number, genre, and branch destinations.

vivastory I love seeing these behind the scenes pics! I can only imagine how much more unruly my TBR would be if I worked in a library!! 📚📚📚 4y
mandarchy Sometimes I wonder if I 'd be more organized if I had another book truck. This looks nice. 4y
Librariana @vivastory - I enjoy sharing these BTS looks at what things are like in my little neck of the Acquisitions Department woods 😁😊🌲🌳 I manage to keep my TBR somewhat under control... but not really 😂 Aside from things coming through my desk for addition, there's also the professional periodicals that are shared around the office with info about future releases. It'd be safe to say TBR lists are constantly in flux 😊 4y
Librariana @mandarchy - I've been known to have 2 at my desk from time to time 😊 The lilac colored one is my favorite and my colleagues know so 😁 I would love to have one at home! 4y
mandarchy @Librariana all of my book trucks are different shades of government issue beige. I also have multiple black AV carts, fortunately not that old. My school was built in the 90s. We just got rid of the salmon colored formica counters, which I thought were coming back in style... 4y

I love this cover, but the title makes me thing Kafka and His Motor Bike. (Claps to you if you remember that reference!)
