In our episode of Unabridged this week, we take on the Enneagram, a personality test that offers 9 types into which people fall. I was less successful than I hoped for sure! Tune in for the saga as I try to explain my search my Enneagram number and for Ashley's and Sara's more successful attempts. 😂 ⠀

Do you know your Enneagram number? What have you learned from Enneagram (or other personality tests)?

Soon, we'll be releasing an episode of Unabridged in which we're discussing the Enneagram, and I read The Essential Enneagram as my contribution to the show. I've been hearing about Enneagram recently on SO many of the podcasts that I listen to, and I delved into it a little bit when we read and discussed Anne Bogel's Reading People in episode 43. I was eager to learn more.⠀

Friends, let me tell you, this is a struggle. ⬇️

UnabridgedPod As part of this whole process, I read this book, took two online quizzes, and took the quiz at the beginning of Ashley's book for the podcast, Milleneagram, and I have gotten a different result. Every. Single. Time. I feel sure that this sort of scattered result means SOMETHING about which Enneagram number I am and about my own self-knowledge, but I don't have the expertise to know what that thing is. ⬇️ 5y
UnabridgedPod Who has Ennegram advice to offer? Anyone else in the same boat as far as Enneagram goes? 5y

Fun to see people's Myer-Briggs types. (Supposedly I'm an INFJ.) But I prefer the Enneagram test where I typically end up a Type 5: The Thinker/Investigator. The description always seems to fit better. It's based on what drives you/what you fear most.
Anyone else ever taken the Ennegram?

CouronneDhiver Never heard of it... I'll check it out 7y
Jess_Read_This This is the first I've heard of it! I'll have to check it out. 7y
BooksForEmpathy Oh yes. I recently got very into the enneagram. I am a 4! 7y

Kristy_K I'm also type 5! 7y
merelybookish @CouronneDhiver @Jess_Read_This There are lots of versions of the test online! 7y
underthebelljar Also an INFJ 🙋 I've never done the Enneagram test though. 7y
EllieDottie Whenever I take the test I get a different number 2,4,5,6,9 .... I've tried to read the descriptions to figure out what I am but I don't really resonate with any of them..... I would love to dive deeper to figure out exactly where I fit! 7y
merelybookish @EllieDottie My inexpert guess is that you fall somewhere in 4, 5, and 6...since they overlap somewhat. I think reading the defining fear or purpose driving the type is helpful. That is what needs to resonate. Or don't worry about it. 😁 7y
Librariana I'm considered an ISFJ, but I've never taken the Enneagram test before... hhmmm.... "ok Google" 7y

Sometimes the books I borrow through Interlibrary loan are more for personal development rather than leisure. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding books on this topic? #enneagram
