I really liked this book. The writing style worked for me and the story created tension that rose throughout the novella. The story was weird and the cult surrounding the worm was annoying. But I couldn't help enjoying the book. I'm not sure how I feel about a sequel though. Seems unnecessary.

It is 1990‘s NYC and many women have started to go missing. Monique will go into the underground tunnels looking for her missing girlfriend, Donna. There are spaces not meant to be taken, avian like creatures that are tall and walk and have sharp talons. There is a cult ready to sing a song that will pierce the universe. This is not my kind of story because there was a part where it felt like the physics and math of this cosmic horror novella👇🏼

Reggie would break my brain but Hailey Piper‘s writing of characters made it my kind of story. This was great. (edited) 4y

The Worm and His Kings by Hailey Piper is an intense and fast-paced cosmic horror tale that centers around the desperation of all of the characters involved.

This novella has such a dark and dreary atmosphere, when turning the final page, it will leave readers looking forward to feeling the sun on their face again as soon as possible!
