A gripping, well written and brilliantly illustrated collection from the Marvel universe, following Thor's battle with the 'God Butcher'. Glad I have the 2nd book to hand already.

I needed to read 8 books before tonight to get to my 100 books goal for 2019 and just in time I found out that my library has subscribed to #rbdigital for magazines and comics! This was an #impulseread for #wintergames #readnosedreindeer
Managed 2 hours so far for #24B42020
I‘m not usually into superheroes but I went into this with an open mind and did enjoy it but the timeline did jump around a bit!
[#ComicBookReview] Thor: God of Thunder Vol 1: The God Butcher by Jason Aaron & Esad Ribić. This was a lot of fun! I did have some issues with the timeline and the art style. However, the core of who Thor is shone throughout this story, which made me really happy because he is a favorite of mine. I do plan on picking up the next volume!

I have to say that this was in between a pick and so-so for me. The art pushed it towards being a pick. The story was decent. 3 Thors from different times had to fight the same villain, Gorr the God Butcher, who wants to kill ALL of the gods the ever have lived. This was a fairly serious story, although it was occasionally humorous when the 3 of them interacted with each other. Gorr's backstory didn't make you have any real sympathy for him.
I was pleasantly surprised by this Thor comic. Very much a page turner; I was bummed out when I turned the page...and there was no more. Need to get the next one in this arc... (P.s.--Needed more lady characters.)
