3.5⭐️ || The physical book is beautiful and it‘s descriptive nature-writing is soothing. This can be picked up in little bits here and there. 🌿 It‘s my #BookSpin for June.
In her novels the natural world always plays a starring role so I was interested in this non fiction collection of column writing focusing on just that. Harrison is amazing with language, evocative with detail and totally accessible. She ignites a passion to observe, a confidence that you can learn and just an overwhelming encouragement to notice life around you. Loved it!
As we begin to emerge from this nightmare that is COVID our renewed appreciated for nature, for observing the small things and finding joy in them - seems the most important legacy of this disaster.
Choosing to read a book about a woman who moves from East London to Suffolk might not be the best plan whilst looking to be distracted from the stress of trying to move ( in real life!) from East London to Suffolk! Oops!
This beautiful nature diary arrived in the mail today and it‘s making me so happy! Apparently there is also a podcast by the same name.🌿
Just starting this today - a beautiful bound collection of writing from Harrison who writes about nature with such elegance 👍🏼
1. I enjoy cross-stitch, and stitched these bears as a gift for my parents a few years ago.
2. I‘m thankful that the working day is done and I can now relax with a nice glass of wine!
