We’ll Always Have Paris
We’ll Always Have Paris: A Mother/Daughter Memoir | Jennifer Coburn
How her daughter and her passport taught Jennifer to live like there's no tomorrow Jennifer Coburn has always been terrified of dying young. So she decides to save up and drop everything to travel with her daughter, Katie, on a whirlwind European adventure before it's too late. Even though her husband can't join them, even though she's nervous about the journey, and even though she's perfectly healthy, Jennifer is determined to jam her daughter's mental photo album with memories—just in case. From the cafés of Paris to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Jennifer and Katie take on Europe one city at a time, united by their desire to see the world and spend precious time together. In this heartwarming generational love story, Jennifer reveals how their adventures helped vanquish her fear of dying...for the sake of living. "Brimming with joie de vivre!"—Jamie Cat Callan, author of Ooh La La! French Women's Secrets to Feeling Beautiful Every Day "Coburn proves as adept at describing the terrain of the human heart as she is the gardens of Alcázar or the streets of Paris."—Claire and Mia Fontaine, authors of the bestselling Come Back and Have Mother, Will Travel

This book fit the prompt for parent/childmemior. It was the last prompt that I need to finish #booked2020 spring. Read some pretty amazing books!

JazzFeathers Great job! I didn't manage to go in order, and anyway, l don't think l'll cover all the prompts. What is your TartanNoir, l can't read. 4y
Lovesbooks87 @JazzFeathers it was Birthdays for the Dead. 4y
Cinfhen Yay!! Great job 💖Which was your favorite read??? This is your #OfficialSpringEntry for #Booked2020 🎉🌻📚🦋😠4y

Because of her fear of dying young just like her father, Jennifer was determined to live each day to her fullest & create wonderful, lasting memories with her daughter. This is a warm hearted account of their travels to Paris, Italy, Spain, & Amsterdam over 4 trips, filled with adventures & misadventures. There‘re also flashbacks on her childhood & her relationship with her father. 🔽

erzascarletbookgasm (continues) These trips bonded mother-daughter relationships further, helped Jennifer come to terms with her father‘s death. 4y
Cinfhen Sounds really good/ is it sad?? 4y
erzascarletbookgasm @Cinfhen Not really, just sad memories when she thought of her childhood days with her father. There‘s humour and it‘ll make you want to travel to those cities with your daughter! 4y

This would make an excellent beach read. It was fast and light and made me want to pack up and head out the door.

I found the narrator annoyingly neurotic at the beginning but quickly warmed up to her and enjoyed reading about her adventures and relationship with her daughter. There are better travel memoirs out there but this one was cute and uplifting nonetheless.

Don‘t avoid this one but you don‘t necessarily need to seek it out either.

I have a zillion other things I *should* be doing but instead I am going to take some time for myself to read, eat ice cream, drink whiskey, and snuggle with a kitten. Life is all about balance and everything else will wait.

1. I‘m working on making a big dent in the tagged book. I have an IRL book club meeting to discuss it on 4/9 😳 (And I just started it yesterday 😬)

2. I like too many! Contemporary fiction, YA, and nonfiction would probably be my top 3.

3. Cadbury all the way!

BeansPage @StephanieGeiser I know how it is! Been trying to make a dent in my Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. It's slow going for me lol 7y

Reading this on vacation with my mom. We went to Europe in 2014 and it was awesome. Brought back good memories. Picture is us when we finally got to Rome!
