I‘m hosting the senior center book club tomorrow for work and one of the genres they suggested was ‘Women Spies.‘ I chose to read The Invisible Woman because the author and subject are both local to me. Virginia Hall was recruited by England to be a wireless operator after a hunting accident that caused her to lose her leg just under her knee. Learning about her war accomplishments is pretty amazing and I‘m glad Robuck chose to tell her story.

This had a slow start but then really took off. Virginia Hall is an American who works with the OSS and SOE as a spy and wireless operator in France during WWII. Considered the most dangerous spy at the time, she was in charge of extensive networks of resistance fighters. Loved that this is based on real people and events. Also my #doublespin for August

I'm actually giving up on September. I'm about halfway through my last 2 books but they're both 500+ pages and I like them too much to skim. So this is my final. 8 bingos. That's fine. On to October!

This was so good. And it's based on real people fighting for the liberation of France during WWII. I think the author did a great job.
