This was a variation that I wanted to like more than I did. P&P moves to rural Kentucky during the Great Depression, and I loved the concept! But this book felt a little rushed, almost like Cox was afraid someone else was going to write this story and she had to get hers out as fast as possible - a lot of the writing was choppy and muddled. I loved that Darcy and Elizabeth's #marriage took place towards the middle of the story ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) (sort of the equivalent of E accepting the Hunsford proposal) and grew to love from there. However, there was definitely some drama that could have been solved by ONE good conversation, and that always annoys me. Still loved this unique setting and this is one I may revisit, since I originally read it back in 2017.

mabell I know what you mean about seeming to rush it to get it out there. But at the same time, I can‘t imagine someone might beat her to setting P&P in Kentucky in the Great Depression 😆 3y
