Bailedbailed

OK I'm going to be honest here... I bailed at 5 hour's In 🤷‍♀️ not because the book was bad no no no, the book was great and honest but heavy with a very triggering topic that did nothing but made me angry. Then one of them said she lived next door to the man who abused her! @howjessicareads

Pickpick

Rape has historically been seen as a “spoil” of war. In fact, it is a method of terrorizing and destroying people, primarily women and children, in the course of war and was only termed a war crime during the trials regarding the war in #Bosnia. Lamb looks at rape in war around the world, giving women their voices, showing those fighting against it, and revealing how very far we have to go. This one is really hard but vital.

I read a brilliant review on The New York Times of how compelling this book is and I immediately rushed to purchase a copy for myself. This genre is hard to read but must be made essential reading. So so important. Super excited about this one in my #TBR
