I found this to be a charming story. Our narrator tells the story of her childhood. One of magic and wonder, sadness and loss and of the journey looking for a missing child. I get most readers find this to be just a fair read but for me there was something about how the story was told that drew me in.

Books that take place in a traveling circus have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Between the setting and this lovely cover, I couldn't pass this one up on #NetGalley.

Sadly though, I wasn't the biggest fan once I finished. It ended up just being okay. The story is confusing at times, told through interviews and news articles, making it hard to follow a story arc.

I didn't like this one as much as I wanted to come. I think me and circuses just don't gel together. We don't know the name of our narrator but was brought up in a circus, her parents didn't care for her and was looked after by Serendipty Wilson. She becomes a tightrope artiste, but an incident happens which haunts and dictates her life. I suppose I didn't feel any kind of connection with anyone. And felt myself skimming through the story.
