A couple of fun little library finds on my walk this morning! Tagged looks like a lovely middle grade read. And I loved A Judgement in Stone so much that I had to grab the Rendell.

pickCallie is ready for a fresh start when her family moves to Scotland, and she convinces her parents to let her be homeschooled. They agree if she joins a social activity, so she joins a twitching, or birdwatching, club that meets at the local library. At the same time she finds and reads the childhood journal of the woman that previously lived in the castle and starts making a few friends. This was a delightful #MiddleGrade read!

I‘m currently all caught up on Middlemarch, so it‘s time for a new middle grade book with lunch. It begins with Callie‘s family moving from California to Scotland when they inherit a castle.

pickLaunching March 2021, this MG story about a young girl & her family who move to Scotland & take up residence in a castle is a delightful story about friendship, discovery, & birding. Initially excited about the move, Callie soon finds that excitement warring with a growing sense of dislocation. With the help of some new friends & the discovery of a mysterious journal, Callie fully embraces her new home. An enjoyable read.
Rainy day today which is perfect for catching up on chores and doing some reading. I‘m starting the morning with the tagged book—a MG book out March 2021 about a family who moves from San Diego to Scotland where the daughter joins a birding club—and will then probably move on to The Vanishing Half. Some friends I decided we need to relaunch our book club as an online endeavor and it‘s our first pick. 🌧 📖 ☕️ 🌧
