I liked this book. It didn‘t have as much romance intertwined into the story as I was expecting, but the world building and conflict made for an interesting audiobook listen. Kudos to the narrator for the great job with different characters‘ accents.

It was okay read. I like the plot. I think the characters could have been better. Also, the book could have been better written. I do not really care for Pax and Aerity romance. He is so rude to her and really does not show he has feelings for her. It's more like he just wants to get in her pants. Heard the second book is better.

New audio book started because nothing good comes from exercising/walking/driving & reading at the same time. 😂😉

Surprisingly we really enjoyed this! We just wish we bought The Great Pursuit at the same time so we didn't have to wait to order it and see what happens 🙈 a solid 3.5 stars- quick and enjoyable read ☺💙

Another amazing one to check out on audio. I really loved the characters and the story! High fantasy, high stakes and romance!

This is Pongo aka Bug cause he likes to snuggle. He is my brother's cat.
So I started by listening to the audiobook during my drive for Christmas. I had the book sitting in my apartment which is lucky bc I had just a few chapters left. I finished it tonight and ugh. I like the book and I know there is a second one. I do not like where things ended. I wanted a different person to kill the beast. So I'm hoping things change and people can be happy.

Not Litsy related but fits in well! My college did a secret Santa for alums and one of my friends in Virginia got me. Everything was wrapped in Harry Potter paper. ❤ And now I have two kinds of lose leaf tea to try while I read!

Oh and I'm almost done with this book. Wondering how it will end since it is book 1 in a 2 book series.

A little hunting before bedtime.

I really liked this story, especially the beginning with the expository, but I didn't love it. BUT, even though I didn't love it, I did like it a lot. It was an entertaining read if not a deep one. And, I tore through the pages. Also, the tension between Paxton and Aerity was pretty darn good.

Started this book, seven chapters in, it has promise. I am liking the expository. Not sure about the characters yet as I have just reached page 66/406 pages. But definitely, at this point, The Great Hunt has made me eager to read the story.

This was a bit far off from the original but I totally see the frame work. This was kind of a light take despite its dark demeanor. It was groundbreaking literature but I think for fantasy fans it's definitely worth the read. That ending was barbaric. Can't wait for book 2!!

Can we talk about how excited I am for something new from Wendy Higgins!!! I'm so excited to read this!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Best part? I forgot I preordered it! Awesome mail surprise!

Such a different, hauntingly beautiful book in the fantasy genre! Wendy Higgins blew me away with her fantasy debut. The characters were engaging and badass. The heroine is so strong especially for her people and Paxton is my newest book boyfriend!!
