I'm so glad that the series will continue! The characters all felt genuine and the plot twist was just as fun as it always is.
pickThis is the first book in the series to be written by a new author, who worked with MC Beaton before she died. You can see some great similarities with the earlier books and overall has some of the same feel, but there are subtle differences to the characters and for example being called Aggie by a number of characters, she only ever allowed this from one. But overall it was still an enjoyable read and will give the new author time.
Starting the first Agatha Raisin book since M C Beaton‘s death. Will be interesting to see how it holds up to a new writer.

pickThe first #AgathaRaisin book written after M.C. Beaton‘s passing is a pick from me. There are differences to the writing style, but it‘s very subtle and I think his additions do something good for the characters. Overall, I‘m quite glad that we will continue to get more Agatha books! 4⭐️

Another fabulous mystery with Agatha and the team. The plot was fun though I had figured out who was behind it. I love her friendship with Toni and of course her connections with both Charles and James. 4*

“Oh, sod the tea,” said Agatha, looking towards the Red Lion‘s pub sign. “How about a drink instead? Do vicars‘ wives frequent pubs?”
“I‘m sure I don‘t know,” Mrs Bloxby replied. “I may be struck down by a bolt of lightning as soon as I cross the threshold.”
No sooner had they walked into the pub than the barman called out from behind the beer pumps, “The usual, Margaret?”
‘Aggie, darling!‘ he gushed. ‘I heard it all on the radio on the way here! Murder at Barfield House! Unbelievable! You under arrest! You must be feeling - oh my god! What are you wearing?‘
‘It‘s a onesie, Roy,‘ said Agatha. ‘Get over it.‘
Look what came in for me today! I‘ve got my fingers crossed for some *lasting happiness* for Agatha ♥️.
I wasn‘t super expecting another book after the authors death last year - but from the opening notes - it sounds like she was planning for it to go on without her.
