#MarchIntoOz Day 9: These graphic novels powerfully depict #DevilInside - one‘s struggles with one‘s inner demons, compulsions that haunt one‘s being, swallowing a being whole until there is nothing left.

This graphic novel feels great in the hands. It is oversized with thick pages. Feiffer's artwork is compelling, but it was a challenge trying to tell some of these characters apart. Two gruff men of similar build. FOUR blonde women. They all start to look the same. Mostly I was underwhelmed by the story. Part one is great and kicks off in 1930s California. Part two jumps ahead ten years and really stretches the bounds of believability.
#currentlyreading a noir graphic novel that I stumbled upon while browsing the public library shelves. #BIRTHDAYSPACE

Carried the graphic novel to #BYOB. Ate some honey jalapeno boneless wings. Found out that this Mom is a badass.
"We don't get many unescorted single gals. A few years ago I wouldn't be serving a single gal unescorted, but now--since they up and gave you gals the vote, anything goes. You're so big, maybe they gave you two, three votes. No stoppin' you gals these days, am I right?"
Also starting. This graphic novel is large and I don't feel like lugging it around everywhere I go so I'm making it my indoor read. It's also good to have a backup book for when the cat decides to use the original current read as a pillow (again). No book is safe from her cat naps. #MooMoo #catsoflitsy

Lunch break library haul.

Books that arrived for me as part of our research project that looks at intersections of literature, psychology, art; and yes, reading, feeling and serving. Expecting a lot of foreign titles learned about/read from Munich to arrive in my doorstep soon (nearly 200 titles) so I can use them in my teaching and our current research and professional development workshops. When work becomes love.
This was a wild ride but a good one. Feiffer's art is so active and energetic. If you like crazy old mysteries (like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane) you'll enjoy this one. #24in48 #24in48readathon

Here are Miles and Louis, my usual reading companions. They're both holding back remarkably well from their usual task: that of chewing the corners of the book I'm reading. They're posing with my next read, and hopefully the title won't influence their actions. 😬 #24in48 #readathon @Litsy
