11 Experiments That Failed
11 Experiments That Failed | Jenny Offill
7 posts | 8 read | 12 to read
"This is a most joyful and clever whimsy, the kind that lightens the heart and puts a shine on the day," raved Kirkus Reviews in a starred review. Is it possible to eat snowballs doused in ketchupand nothing elseall winter? Can a washing machine wash dishes? By reading the step-by-step instructions, kids can discover the answers to such all-important questions along with the book's curious narrator. Here are 12 "hypotheses," as well as lists of "what you need," "what to do," and "what happened" that are sure to make young readers laugh out loud as they learn how to conduct science experiments (really!). Jenny Offill and Nancy Carpenterthe ingenious pair that brought you 17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymorehave outdone themselves in this brilliant and outrageously funny book.

#EmojiMadness Day 10: These young girls demonstrate a love for 🔬 that is particularly noteworthy. Young girls don‘t always have to be princesses, they can be scientists too! Perfect for Women‘s Month. Screenshot from my Social and Emotional Learning bookshelf up at GatheringBooks bit.ly/SocialAwarenessBookList - tagging #LibrariansOfLitsy

Another entertaining read by Offill. I particularly liked the washing machine as a dishwasher...I mean, why not?!? #24in48 #book9

Loved this story of a girl designing experiments and testing her hypotheses. No matter how much she "fails," she keeps on experimenting. Great book to introduce the scientific process in a fun, accessible way. The illustrations are great too!

I cannot express my love for 17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymore. I'm pleased to say that Offill and Carpenter have done it again. I love their protagonist. I love that she is still obsessed with beavers. I have nothing but love for this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book cracked me up as much as Offill & Carpenter's previous picture book, 17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymore.
