Love the Rebus Series set in Edinburgh. Ian Rankin has such a great writing style, like being wrapped in a cosy blanket.

Several strands are expertly weaved together in this excellent Rebus- a seemingly motiveless killing of an oil worker, the (real life) sixties serial killer Bible John, and a modern imitator dubbed Johnny Bible by the press, and another long-dead case whose reopening by the press looks likely to cast doubts on the integrity of Rebus's old mentor and by extension on Rebus himself.
Wow! This book is one heckuva ride! Detective John Rebus just can‘t catch a break. Of course, he‘s his own worst enemy, and you name it, they‘re all after him: reporters, organized crime, police, 1 serial killer, who‘s actually after another serial killer, lingering doubt about an old case, etc. And is he really turning over a new leaf? Read it and find out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don‘t seem to have any dresses on my kindle! Some blue stuff. Good read rate - I have 1-10 on my kindle of the Rebus series and have so far read one 🤷♀️
I must say that I'm happy to be a fan of Ian Rankin. His books are ones that absorb me fully. Great reads that's for sure
Day 4 of 7 days of my favourite books! No explanation, no reviews, just covers! #favouritereads #scottish #rankinandrebus #mystery

So far the best Rebus novel of the 8 I have read.
In this novel, Rankin uses a story he heard from a friend and builds up a whole narrative which is amazing.
John Rebus is mobile , he takes us all around Scotland in this book. From Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, to the Shetlands and the oil rigs in the Atlantic.
There are four crimes in this 500 pages novel. Rankin's most ambitious so far - as I am reading the series one books at time.
One of the best Rebus novels I have read so far. Ian Rankin in this novel is writing at another level.

Another fine installment in the Rebus series. Liked seeing Gill Templer, and the trip to Aberdeen and the Shetland Islands made for some great reading. Also, interestingly, Rebus books always end up making me crave Indian food whenever Rebus has some. 😆

Another Rebus book that references the John Martyn song "I'd Rather Be the Devil." Interestingly, Rather Be the Devil is the title of the next Rebus...
Yay Doctor Who references! And yes it is acceptable to call the title character "Doctor Who" as well as "The Doctor". That's what he was called in the credits of the original series.
"a nan bread big enough to be plotting world domination"
YUMMM!
My goodness! A John Hannah TV tie-in edition! Wasn't expecting this to be the edition my mum had. (I am visiting my parents for the weekend and raiding their bookshelves.)
