Whoa. Talk #AboutABook that's #ShortButPowerful ?

How the hell I've had this book 38ish years and thought I read it is just beyond.
Minus the peep show era of Times Square this book could have written today. The ultra fine line between "good" guys & "bad" guys is timeless.
I've got a book hangover to nurse

Since I posted about Cormier for #AboutABook and this one happens to be on my #BookSpinBingo board I figured why not.

I may have already read this back in the early 90s; or maybe not. Back then I shelved all books together and I ended up overlooking a few TBRs when I quickly learned to separate them.

dabbe OMG! This was the FIRST book I taught on my own as a student teacher to seniors back in spring 1994!!! It's my fave of his! 🧡🩶🧡 4mo
TheBookgeekFrau @dabbe All these crazy coincidences!! 🤗 💕 I just can't believe I've had this book since ~1992 and never read it, but thought I did 🙇🏻‍♀️ 4mo

I enjoyed this book. It did hit a dry spot midway through. Overall a great book.

This would have messed me up as a 13 year old. Very well-done but disturbing. I'm not sure I would classify this as a children's book.

Cormier is so disturbing. I'm almost glad I didn't read them when I was young.
