This board book edition of Little Dreamers: Visionary Women Around the World by New York Times bestselling author Vashti Harrison is a beautiful first book to teach your little dreamers to follow all their biggest ideas. Featuring eighteen women creators, ranging from writers to inventors, artists to scientists, this board book adaptation of Little Dreamers: Visionary Women Around the World introduces trailblazing women like Mary Blair, an American modernist painter who had a major influence on how color was used in early animated films, environmental activist Wangari Maathai, and architect Zaha Hadid. The irresistible full-color illustrations show the Dreamers as both accessible and aspirational so reader knows they, too, can grow up to do something amazing.

DrSpalding While this is non-fiction… It is actually a biography highlighting the lives of 18 women. Her series of books would work well in social studies units about historical figures. Reading rockets is an excellent resource. 4y

Dream Big, Little One is a favorite in my classroom! So I was so excited when I found out that there was a new one! I love the diversity that is shown in the book and all the amazing women who have shaped the way for us. I love showing little ones that they can be whatever they want to be! Can I say how much I loved this one? Showcasing a diverse group of women from around the world, this book encourages young ones to dream big and think about everything they can accomplish. From art to music to knowledge to courage, the women featured in this book left a mark on history and in their profession/area of interest. I loved the diversity in this. Letter T for #BBRC #A2Z

This B picture book encourages the reader to have high ambitions for their life by detailing all of the women who have made history. From Gyo Fujiikawa to Marie Curie to Frida Kahlo these women achieved their dreams, no matter what. I found this book to be very inspiring as these women came from all walks of life and achieved their perspective dream despite the odds. An AS would be appropriate as Vashti Harrison has books similar to this one that

Kyleigh_J might resonate with other students, such as Bold Women in Black History and Exceptional Men in Black History. My Piktochart would be a great example AS or could be used as a resource to help students learn more about Vashti Harrison. https://create.piktochart.com/output/45094423-vashti-harrison-author-study-kylei... UDL 7.2 Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity is satisfied by this resource as all of the information is credible and 5y
Kyleigh_J relevant. EL 24 Incorporate the culture and the language of second language learners in your curriculum is satisfied as women and men from many different cultures are being represented in Vashti Harrison's books. #UCFLAE3414SP20 5y
DrSpalding You listened and applied! Not only do I love that you selected a new author to create your author study but you used your Piktochart as the resource. Excellent! Use this in a future classroom. 5y
