Viviannef Ramzie! I‘ve read this story before and I love your idea of having students read this as an IR to build fluency :) love your resource, I found a pdf page on the website of so many ways to incorporate this book in your class! Great post 4y
DrSpalding National education Association is a quality resource. While independent reading could work, reading aloud the story and facilitating connections would also be wise. 4y

Emma_Barcena This looks like such a funny story, I‘m sure students would enjoy reading independently as well! I‘ve never heard of this, but from looking at the cover I‘m sure I would be giggling! Your UDL and EL principles seem very applicable! 4y
DrSpalding Remember that science fiction is often rooted in scientific principles. This is more so modern fantasy. DrSpalding Again, your resources and teaching strategy don‘t quite align. Just listing the English learner and universal design principles don‘t show how you would connect all of these elements. A little more detail is needed. 4y

JoslynB I saw this book and fell in love with the concept immediately. It is nice to see someone choose it. This book is great to incorporate with a social study lesson. It also helps to introduce important historical figures outside of the typical curriculum that can expand student's knowledge of significant accomplishments.
