Grabbed this for $1 at my library. Sounded pretty good, so I figured I‘d snag it. Never read anything by him, so I‘m looking forward to reading this.

I have loved every David Bell book I‘ve ever read but this one is my least favorite. It‘s probably because all of the characters (except for the baby) are so unlikeable. I wish I had a dollar for every time I thought, “why would you do something so stupid?” There was also a LOT of running around in this book - the main character seemed to spend an crazy amount of time running around town looking for folks because they didn‘t pick up the phone.

I didn't read as many books as I would have liked in July due to changes on the home front. Friends have been gathering on my patio over wine, snacks, & hand sanitizer. 😷 Like me, my son is now working at home.
I read 6 enjoyable books. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 by 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥 was the standout.

July Wrap Up! The Request was the best!
No. Just no. I was going to give this a book a "so, so" but the more I think about it, the more I realize how much I dislike it. There are too many superfluous scenes that do nothing for the plot. One prime example is where Blake and Amanda go into great detail with Amanda's parents about what is going on with the murder that has taken place. Also, the murder plot is easy to figure out. Just disappointing all around. ?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 by 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥 is a compelling, fast-paced thriller featuring ordinary people navigating extraordinary circumstances; an exploration of friendship exploited & manipulated; a look at the role of social media in the life of a man wracked with guilt; & a wry commentary about its power & influence. One of 2020's best thrillers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bleh. Chloe‘s face says it all. We tried really hard to get into this book but the characters were just so selfish and annoying. The dialog was hideous. They kept repeating themselves over and over again—I guess in an effort to draw out the suspense? Instead we just kept screaming at them to “GET TO THE &$!%ing POINT ALREADY!” Almost every character was the suspected killer at some point so it just dragged on and on and on...
Wow! 🤩 I had high hopes for this one and he hit every one of them! Unputdownable! Full of suspense and twists! I think this is the 3rd book of his that I‘ve read, but I‘d say it‘s definitely his best one.
I am not wanting to put this one down!! 🤗
I bought this one because I didn‘t want to wait for it from the library, so I‘m picking it up next instead of one from my library stack! 😙
