Day 21 - #easter #springintoreading

I have this book and need to read it soon:

In this extraordinary fiction debut--rich with love and betrayal, history and intellectual passion--two remarkable narratives converge on Easter Island, one of the most remote places in the world.

EadieB "Intelligently conceived and elegantly written, Easter Island is a pleasure to read...combines gripping traditional storytelling with scientist-explorer protagonists...makes the quest for scientific breakthroughs both exciting and all too human." — Newsday 6y

1. Kindergarten and 1st probably. Small private school. Lots of friends and attention.
2. All art classes.
3. Nope. 🐈🐈
4. Easter island 🗿 or the island in “island of the blue dolphins” because we‘re talking about elementary school. It would really be a beautiful lost Island with fabulous inhabitants and all the amenities I could ask for😀. 🏝🏖 #FRIYAYINTRO

Hooray! The library‘s catalog is back on line and looks quite spiffy after the update. It turns out, this book is available! It looks really interesting.

LeeRHarry This is one of my favourite books and @Liberty raved about it on the All the Backlist podcast last week too 😊 I also think I have a photo of myself in front of those two Moai - ahh memories 😊 (edited) 7y
Susanita @LeeRHarry I heard that too! 7y

Here goes. The start of my August book speed dating project. I've chosen 8 that have been hanging around way too long, and I'm not actually sure I *need* to read. They've each got 50 pages to convince me they're worth reading, or they're out the door. Didn't think I'd find this that difficult. Turns out, I might!

MissSarahLou I love this idea! 8y
Eyelit Such a great idea - I def need to do that one of these days! 8y
rockpools @SarahA @Eyelit It's @ReadingEnvy 's idea, from her podcast, which I've shamelessly stolen! The new, shiny, pretty books don't fit on the shelves, because they're full of things I might read one day. Or not. For some reason I feel v guilty about officially giving up on them though 😕 8y

ReadingEnvy Woohoo book speed dating! I'm starting to get more tough ... Okay I lie. I'd say for every 10 I probably say nope to 3. But that's 3 books I thought I'd like so maybe that's still progress? 8y
rockpools @ReadingEnvy Definitely progress! Also gives me an idea what to aim for - I was hoping to get rid of half, and *knowing* it wasn't going to happen! 3 in 10 I can do! Maybe! 8y
KarenUK Great idea 8y
