I admire her stamina and attitude, really incredible in how she adapted and chose her ways
Equally, I'm appalled by the horrendous examples set by the islanders, and their terrible racism.
I hope they have learnt a bit about the wider world.

Drew me in at the library... beautiful in its description and atmosphere.

This book is intense.
This woman does not stay down.
I got a little 🤬 when she was explaining about her marriage to Rab and his behaviour.
I know what it's like to be cast out and isolated when you move to a new place and try to make it home. This lady does not quit, she followed her instincts and listened to her body and the earth.
She did not quit!

Matching my drink with my reading this evening.

Lovely, sad, inspiring and ultimately uplifting story. Tamsin‘s honesty of her difficult struggles and eventual joy are refreshing. I‘m so glad that she has found peace and delight in her wee island. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
