Libro de Los Baltimore / The Book of the Baltimores
Libro de Los Baltimore / The Book of the Baltimores | Joël Dicker
After impacting three million readers with The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, Joël Dicker returns with Marcus Goldman in his new novel. "In just weeks, The Book of the Baltimores has reached the top of the lists of best sellers and we know why. We await any free minute in our daily life--on the subway, on the bus, standing in line--to immerse ourselves in reading it." -Toutelaculture.com "If you find this book, please read it. I want someone to know the story of the Goldman-de-Baltimores." Until The Drama took place, there were two branches of the Goldman family: the Baltimore Goldmans and the Montclair Goldmans. The Montclairs, family of Marcus Goldman, author of The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, is a middle-class family that lives in a small house in New Jersey. The Baltimores, prosperous and always lucky, live in a luxurious mansion in a high-society neighborhood in Baltimore. Eight years after The Drama, Marcus Goldman puts the past under a microscope in search of the truth about the family's decline. Among the memories of his youth, he relives the fascination he felt from a young age toward the Baltimores, who embodied aristocratic America with their vacations in Miami and in the Hamptons and their elitist schools. With the passage of time, the brilliant sheen of the Baltimores faded at the same time that The Drama began to unfold. Until the day that everything changed forever.

Fantastic read, really good and well thought out storyline. The fluctuating time line makes it even more interesting as I was constantly trying to determine who was where and when!
I hope he's writing another. 😊😊😉

Mehso-so

I spent a few days on vacation and this is the only book that I have been able to finished. It's okay as beach-read, but my expectations was to high, because I really liked his first book. Main character is the same as it is in the Harry Quebert Affair, but this time the story is focusing on family secrets and their consequences. Suspense is created with some 'cheap tricks' from mystery books and this is the reason why I don't like the story.âï¸âï¸âï¸

BarbaraBB Ah too bad that it wasn't as good as 7y
Simona @BarbaraBB I was the victim of high expectations based on the previous book and I didn't check the reviews before I started reading ... but I'm still curious about his future works 👠7y
batsy That's too bad. I have the first one and I'm looking forward to it, glad to hear you liked that 👠7y

Simona @batsy @irre Don't be distracted by my personal disappointment, it's very readable! 7y
SaraFair Love how you did this picture! 7y
ErikasMindfulShelf It doesn't seem like it's been published by a US publisher. Where did you buy it? 7y
Simona @SaraFair Thanks 😊 7y
Simona @irre I have Slovenian translation. I was wondering today, when I was browsing through reviews on GR, why they are so few in English ... I guess that's the reason. You can buy it on Book Depository https://www.bookdepository.com/The-Baltimore-Boys-Joel-Dicker-Alison-Anderson/97... 7y
ErikasMindfulShelf Thank you! 7y
llauraff I‘m with you .... I was the victim of high expectations too, but the book is very readable and at last I wanted to know how the writer closed the circle ..... (edited) 7y
Simona @llauraff Yes it‘s readable, and maybe I was to harsh, because of my disappointment... 7y

I'm done with the #24in48
My final result is 16 hours and 28 minutes, I finished Dance with Dragons - 600 pages and I have started The Baltimore Boys - 148 pages.

Congratulations to all readathoners and thanks to @24in48 for organizing this nice, fun #readathon weekendâ£ï¸

Jinjer What a cute scruffy puppy!!! 7y
SaraFair There's some terrier in that puppy! 7y
Simona @SaraFair Judging by her stubbornness and her 'hair style' - for sure! She is from animal shelter and they have found puppies (4 sisters and 1 brother) and they all looked different. 7y
SaraFair Could be different dads! A doggie dna test would be fun. 7y

#SnacksAndStacks for #24in48 #readathon
My current snack are fresh blueberries with dried cranberries and English tea with cream 😋 and I really want to finish with Dance with Dragons (still 250p to read) and I really want to start with the tagged book ... sweet bookish dilemmas 🤔

I'm finding it less engaging than the other one, even if I read 200 pages in one day. It's not a proper mystery, that's the thing, I think. In any case my breakfast will be great in this company.
