#CheerwineAndABook late night edition. 😃🥂 This book has drawn me in so much, I'll probably be up at least another hour! Great spend, $2-3, on Book Outlet awhile back.

I read the previous two books in this trilogy and excited for this final book but in the end disappointing. If you like Tom Wolfe's Bonfire of the Vanities, you will love the trilogy.

I absolutely loved this book--and I had not read the two proceeding novels. I found moving the story of the challenges experienced by a long-term couple (exacerbated by annoying teen kids), and I was entranced by the New York Publishing angle. I'm always a sucker for stories that take place around the publishing industry.

Came home last night to find the International Festival of Authors had dropped three new books into my Little Free Library as part of a promotion across the city, together with a nice little note in the mailbox for me. What a lovely surprise!

Today's bookish haul. I went in expecting to pick up a couple of titles, but got these instead. I've enjoyed Faderman's Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers, and I'm hoping her book has the same scope as Randy Shilts' Conduct Unbecoming. The Country of Ice Cream Star is different; I read the first chapter at the store and while the dialect is tricky I could not put it down. The others were also impulse buys. My name is Kris and I have a book problem.
