It begins with a nursery rhyme. Nineteen minutes later you die. A masked stranger stands in the shadows. He watches his victim through the window. He will kill him slowly—make him pay. Okay, so it took me a couple days to finish, but I finally did! Fast paced and thrilling!

I plan on finishing this today. Started off like woah! Slowed down a bit, but picked up and is at the point now where I don‘t want to stop reading. Love this series!

Started the next book in the Joona Linna Series, which I am reading as part of the #24B4Monday and #MidYearRush Readathons, and also for #NordicNoir.

So far at 14 hrs 1 min for #24B4Monday as midnight approaches.

This book will help me in my goal to finish the Joona Linna Series for #MidYearRush. This book and one more to go in the series.

EadieB @Andrew65 Get ready for lots of sex and violence! Otherwise I liked the plot but still too long of a book. You're catching up very quickly! 4y
Andrew65 @EadieB Aiming to get the series finished off over the next week or so. Good plots but spoilt by sex and violence when not needed. 4y
Crazeedi Awesome Andrew, this series I havent even finished the first one... 4y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi It‘s quite an enjoyable series, if you ignore the sex bits (not needed). Still a bit long but some good stories. 4y

EadieB This is the 6th book in the series. Enjoyed the plot and thought the premise was clever. Length of book is not necessary as story could be told in shorter version and not dragged out so much. Strengths - interesting plots and characters. Weakness - too much explicit sex and violent, graphic killings. I don't like that Joona is in prison and then they let him out to do investigations. That doesn't work for me. Doesn't feel like a real concept. 4y

EadieB This was just another theory but I knew these were not random killings and knew the reason for the killings would be known at the end of the book. 4y

EadieB I knew that wasn‘t what was really going on as it was too early in the book. 4y

Book 6 in the Joona Linna series. "Stalker" (book 5) ended with a bit of a shock so I just had to keep going!

Today is such a beautiful day. Too hot for my liking but the house is fresh and its kinda perfect for reading. Days like this make it really hard to handle having to stay home. Things I never did before, suddenly I really feel like doing now. Started the sixth book in the Joona Linna series from Lars Kepler. Any fans of crime books?

A satisfying read, a racy thriller.
The sex and violence are quite graphic though..

I‘d looked forward to this; saved it to savour it. All the more disappointing for that. The plot is too far-fetched to sustain interest; the "reveal" of the killer's identity comes roughly 20 chapters too late. Don‘t get me started on Kepler's personal fantasy woman, Saga Bauer. He obsesses with her getting sticky, naked in a leather jumpsuit. Bleeeurgh, as the critics say. Main protagonist, Joona Linna has become stale and infallible. Shame.

Cinfhen Sorry it was such a let down 7y
Peterfox123 @Cinfhen I think I was surprised much as anything. It‘s a series where I‘ve always been waiting for the next one. Ah well, plenty more books in the tbr! 7y
Cathythoughts Oh dear ! Disappointing! As you say ... plenty more on TBR 7y

I‘ve had the five earlier books in this series and did a tiny gasp of delight when I acquired book 6. You may have heard me. It was a happy gasp. Sadly though, this is a huge disappointment. It‘s so deliberately gruesome the horror loses meaning and the author's personal fantasies indulged in his depiction of the main female protagonist are toe-curling. I‘m not going to bail but it‘s doubtful there will be any more gaps of joy.

Martta I've got couple of Keplers waiting on my TBR pile. It seems like this one is not yet translated but the plot does sound interesting. 8y
