Listen to Pont Neuf
This was a disappointment. The plot was lacking to say the least and the ending didn't feel like an ending. The one bright spot was the narrator. The narration saved the day because this book more than likely would have been a DNF otherwise. 2.5 - 3 ⭐

The splendidly gifted (and faintly scandalous) writer Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway‘s famously unhappy third wife, is the presiding spirit over a great romance. Two American soldiers, torn apart by the war, meet and fall in love with Martha‘s protégé—the irresistibly charming and vulnerable young reporter, Annie March.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ pleasantly surprised
I drove in circles for 3 hours today, listening to this off and in. I don‘t think it will be my favorite book, but I do sometimes like historical fiction. Settling in tonight with an amaretto sour 🍒 🍊 🍹
This is an ok somewhat short story about a journalist (who tangentially was a cohort of Martha Gellhorn) & her relationship with one of 2 Harvard friends serving in WWII. The narrator annoyed me early on; overdone. The conclusion, while emotional, wasn‘t quite the bombshell I was led to believe. #readingeurope2020 #Luxembourg. Will also work for #France and #Belgium
