UPDATE: as sweet, charming, and uplifting as expected 👍🏼
Finished listening to this one while doing some baking. It was a cute story. Enjoyed the how the bridges and locks were integrated into the story. Liked how Mitchell grew throughout the story and opened himself back up again. Good supporting characters and a sweet tale overall.
Believeable narrative, and a letter writing man ♡! Mitchell is still grieving and feeling guilt over losing Anita, but is forced to cope for the sake of their daughter, never seeking out new love. The monotony of his job is drastically shifted after saving a woman who falls into the water under the bridge where he removes love locks. And so starts a mirage of complex mini storylines and relationships that weave into a complete story of healing.

Family secrets, grieving, life.
I won this from the North Carolina book fairies.
Mitchell went from his job as an engineer to the job of removing padlocks placed by lovers on bridge railings and padlocks that were starting to weigh down the bridges.
One day while removing the padlocks, he rescued a woman who fell off the bridge.

HAPPY PUB DAY!!
Enjoyed this book as I have enjoyed all of Phaedra Patrick‘s books.
Look for my review tomorrow.

I have read the author‘s previous books and loved them. I am going to settle down with this one tonight!
I have always loved the idea of attaching a ‘love lock‘ to a bridge, never giving a thought to the consequences of all that weight of thousands of pieces of metal added to the bridge supports. Such a dilemma is at the heart of this book. The mystery surrounding the woman who fell, the agony of bereavement of her rescuer and the love story which ultimately finds the main character are skillfully woven to create a charming novel of hope.

Today, I won two books. The first from #ncbookfairies which is the tagged book. The second from Goodreads which is “Take a Hint, Dani Brown”. It must be my lucky book day!
I just finished Phaedra Patrick‘s newest heartwarming, sweet read.

It‘s tropey but kind of adorable. I‘m not sure I liked the main character all that much but I did his love interest 🤷🏾♀️
