Kiskeya Burgos, pastry chef on the come up, arrives in Scotland with one goal in her sight: win the Holiday Baking Challenge and finally prove to her family, her horrible old boss and most importantly herself, she has what it takes to make it in the culinary world. Kiskeya left Dominican Republic with a lot to prove and now that she has her chance she will do what it takes to win the opportunity of a lifetime. If she can keep her eyes on the prize and off her infuriating teammate's perfect lips.Sully Morales, home cooking hustler and self-proclaimed baking brujita is in Scotland to reconnect with herself after a few years of having her life was consumed by her mother's illness. But now that the family's back on track it's time for Sully to get back to her greatest love, baking. She's got it in her to win this contest. But when she finally convinces her grumpy AF baking partner that they make a great team at baking and at kissing, an unexpected betrayal may end their chance to win culinary competition glory.

4/5

I've been entertaining myself over the holiday with some fun holiday novellas. This is another steamy romance, set during a holiday cooking competition in Scotland where the two Dominican contestants, Sully and Kiskeya are paired up to compete. It's a fun read, and I always love baking competition romances.

I read this one for the #readingglassespodcast erotica bookclub discussion last week. (I'm a bit behind on reviews) It was a short and sweet novella which I enjoyed. Two Dominican women are paired together in a holiday baking tv competition. In the discussion everyone seemed to be concerned about the hygienics of kitchen sex but I was more worried about cameras catching them 👀😂
I would have loved this one even more as a full length novel.

This was...fine? I think I need to quit reading these tropey romances because I always find them vaguely unsatisfying. It was fun, but I'm resisting the urge to spend way more characters than I have here picking it apart.

Still giving it a pick because I'm pretty sure it's a me thing and not the book's fault.

A cute f/f romance set during a baking competition in Scotland. Got a bit dramatic at times, and I wish there had been a bit more focused on the actual baking but still a fun holiday read. Despite being teammates, Kiskeya and Sully are total opposites. Sully wants to rep her Dominican heritage with pride. Kiskeya just wants to win and not get too personal on the way. If only they weren't totally attracted to each other. Cute and steamy novella.

Mehso-so

Can‘t expect a lot of substance in a novella, but...... I‘m of course always here for F/F romance, & I appreciated the discussion of cultural influences in their craft & the different ways the women approach that. Fun to see the treats they made too. But aside from the smut (which I skip b/c not my thing) this was pretty lacking. No real characterization, weird u-turns in behavior, etc. Prob fun for ppl who like smut, but for me, mostly meh 2/5 ⭐️

Finished my first for #booked2020 , a book you can read in a day. This is a very sweet, VERY steamy, F/F romance set at a baking competition, 150 pages, and totally adorable. Pictures is my first ever attempt at homemade pretzel rolls!

Short and sweet and I'm very glad I didn't wait until next year to read it just because I timed things put badly this year!

I hit 200 books on my Goodreads challenge with this wonderful book! (Doubling my yearly goal of 100.) This is a short, sweet, and spicey holiday f/f romance by one of my favorite new-to-me authors! If you haven't read anything by her, this is a seasonally appropriate gateway to your next favorite romance writer!

Nessavamusic Amazing! I‘m trying to decide if I‘m going for that for next year‘s goal. 5y
