These are the books I read for #ramadanreadathon
I would recommend all of them, especially the book tagged-When Michael Met Mina / The Lines We Cross.

I've read very few contemporary YA books with an unflinching depiction of refugee situations, but #WhenMichaelMetMina was absolutely spectacular.
This is a book anyone can read, and it‘s a book that I feel all Australians SHOULD read. I would very much like to see this book become part of the high school curriculum one day.
All of these sound really interesting! I've added them to my #TBR list except Ms. Marvel, which I'm likely reading later today.

"I know two things for a fact. My parents are good people. And ever since I can remember they have been angry about everything."
I sped through last night and this morning on the commute - this was an incredible read that covers headline grabbing issue in an open and accessible way. In Australia there is a cohort that wants to stop "the boats" in Europe it is a similar thing, in the US your president elect wants to build a wall. This books looks at the humanity behind these headlines it looks at one girl and her family. It wasn't preachy it was simple and clear #litsyatoz
Library roulette strikes again, due on Thursday - went to renew and now there is a hold! Doh! Let's read it! YA so hopefully should be a quick read. This is an Aussie book about a young girl who arrived in Australia as a refugee from Afghanistan on a boat, she meets boy who's Dad is the leader of a right wing political group who wants to stop the boats! An important book in the current political environment in all our countries
Loving this so far. The characters are fleshed out and realistic and it seems a fair portrayal of very different people.
This book is so relevant to today's society. The issues of immigration and asylum seekers are regularly in our news. This book made me think and question myself and my beliefs. Thought provoking and wonderfully written! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mina came to Australia ten years ago from Afghanistan as a refugee, Michael's parents are the grassroots organisers of a racist 'Aussie Values' group. Super relevant and deals with the impact of racism (both overt forms & microaggressions) in a thoughtful and absorbing teen romance.
