This is the third and final book in the Crown of Shards Trilogy. Queen Everleigh and her friends must work together to defeat the evil King and his family who are trying to destroy Bellona. The must go to a yearly festival/gladiator games and while there they work toward securing new allies, finding the King's weaknesses and defeating him once and for all. (Cont. ⬇️)

CoffeeK8 It was a thrilling end to this series, but you must read the other books first in order to understand the political intricacies involved. 4y

Another great installment in this series. The only problem I had with it was Evie's apparent need to say all of her friends names each time she referenced them ("my friends"). All of them. Every time.

Between a pick and so-so
Overall: I think this series could have been scaled down to two books easily, with fewer assassination attempts and if she could have stopped repeating certain phrases over and over again (i.e. is hot spicy Jalapeno scent, or she plays the long game, and the list goes on)it was maddening.

There were many exciting and nail-biting moments in this story! I enjoyed that I was kept in suspense as Everleigh tackled one battle after another. I loved that this story included the Regalia Games because what a way to circle back to the gladiator days that fans love! There were parts that did drive me a little batty, like Everleigh‘s constant referencing in regards to scents and the long game, but, overall, a captivating page turner.
