The Princess Plan
The Princess Plan | Julia London
7 posts | 4 read | 5 to read
Princes have pomp and glorynot crushes on commoners Nothing gets the tongues of Londons high society wagging like a good scandal. And when the personal secretary of the visiting Prince Sebastian of Alucia is found murdered, its all anyone can talk about, including Eliza Tricklebank. Her unapologetic gossip gazette has benefited from an anonymous tip about the crime, prompting Sebastian to take an interest in playing detectiveand an even greater interest in Eliza. With a trade deal on the line and mounting pressure to secure a noble bride, theres nothing more salacious than a prince dallying with a commoner. Sebastian finds Elizas contrary manner as frustrating as it is seductive, but theyll have to work together if theyre going to catch the culprit. And when things heat up behind closed doors, its the prince wholl have to decide what comes firsthis country or his heart.

This week‘s #bookreport. I read 6 books total and have 2 long audiobooks in progress. A pretty good start to the year.

LiteraryinPA Wow, great week! I‘ll be curious what you think about the Gladwell. I‘m thinking about reading it but it‘s not my typical fare. 5y
CoffeeK8 @LiteraryinLititz yeah, I‘m not sure about this one. I usually really like him but for whatever reason I wasn‘t so excited for this one 5y
Crazeedi Great job!👏👏🥰 5y

Today‘s read. Relaxing into the New Year with this #romantsy

Sace This sounds good! 5y
CoffeeK8 @Sace so far I‘m really enjoying it. The heroine also paraphrased the Warren she persisted statement in talking about herself, so I think it‘s going to be good all the way through 5y
Sace @CoffeeK8 luckily Hoopla had the audio book. I'm kind of listening to my list in alphabetical order and I'm only up to D so it might be a while before I get to this one 😂 5y
CoffeeK8 @Sace hoopla is the best! They have such a good selection 5y

Aww what a cute story, it was quite predictable but I loved it anyway. Reading lots of crime/thrillers its always nice to take a break with a fluffier story. The plot was interesting and I enjoyed the added mystery of the murder. The ending was very cute too and finished the story well. I really liked Eliza and her strong personality. She was so funny too. A cute light read.

Out today in the UK and this isn‘t perfect but it‘s a pretty good historical romance with royal hero, a commoner for a heroine, a mystery and a slightly to quick ending

I was actually leaning more towards a “so-so” rating until about halfway through this one. Both the heroine and hero redeemed themselves (she started out rather silly, he arrogant), and the slow pace picked up a bit at that point. This had some hints of P&P mixed in throughout.

Eliza is a 28 yo spinster (due to a scandal 10 years earlier) who takes care of her blind father who is a justice. Sebastian is the crown prince of Alucia, visiting ⬇️

robinb England to secure trade agreements and a politically advantageous wife.

There is a murder to solve as well as an unfolding romance, and both H/h are drawn together by their shared isolation and need for honesty and loyalty.

I did come to like both H/h and enjoyed the humor and growth of both characters. 4/5⭐️ #Harlequin #NetGalley Out 11/19 @ScientistSam

ScientistSam Hmmm, sounds promising! 5y
robinb @ScientistSam 👍 Yes, I was glad that I ended up liking it as well. I also think that part of it was getting used to the author‘s writing style...a little different. 5y
