Umbrella Academy is Netflix's most watched show of 2019 with over 45 million viewers and a second season on the way! Now the best-selling graphic novel returns with the original creators! Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance, Doom Patrol) and Gabriel B (Two Brothers, Casanova) have earned awards and accolades on their separate projects, and finally return to their breakout 2007 hit, for the latest chapter in the bizarre lives of their former teen superhero team. Features an introduction by Eisner Award-winning creator Jeff Lemire! Faced with an increasing number of lunatics with superpowers eager to fight his own wunderkind brood, Sir Reginald Hargreeves developed the ultimate solution ... Now, just a few years after Hargreeves's death, his Umbrella Academy is scattered. Number Five is a hired gun, Kraken is stalking big game, Rumor is dealing with the wreckage of her marriage, an out-of-shape Spaceboy runs around the streets of Tokyo, Vanya continues her physical therapy after being shot in the head--and no one wants to even talk about what Sance is up to ... The award-winning and best-selling superhero series returns, stranger than ever--And their past is coming back to hunt them.

This third volume peaks my interest again. When a secret dungeon for all the dangerous criminals the academy captures is breached, the siblings must reunite to save the city from being overrun by a horde of super powered maniacs. The ending sets up a very interesting premise for the next volume. After a lackluster second book, this title is back to being as good as the first, and left me very interested to see what comes next.

This time around, it felt like a hot mess - the storylines from the last two volumes were still there but it also feels like a few more were added so maybe all characters have an arc but it's just a hot mess because of all the twists and turns that really lead nowhere as this ends on a cliffhanger, yet again but I just heard that there's a possibility of more so maybe the twists and turns will land somewhere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This isn‘t as good as the other two, in my opinion. Really disjointed and a little ward to follow on places. Still don‘t know the point of some parts... oh well, it‘s another book finished! #wintergames2020 #merryreaders

fredamans This show is filmed in my hometown!! I actually walked through the set on Ottawa street one day. (That's where the movie theater and cafe is in the show.) 4y

Not as good as the first 2 volumes and leaves off on a bit of a cliffhanger. I want more of White Violin's story!

Caught up and starting this one now. I'm excited and so is Bastet as me reading means she gets extended naptime against me where I don't move and shuffle her.

CoveredInRust @readordierachel They do! Bastet is a particularly good reading companion. Never climbs onto my book. 4y

I'm at a loss for words!
I blew through these pages; not able to get enough of the Hargreeves and their adventures. I especially enjoy that whilst fighting crime and saving the universe we also get to see the private lifes of our heroes. We get to know their hopes, dreams and achilles' heels.

My only complaint is the cliffhanger ending ....
HOW CAN THEY DO THIS TO ME ???

AkashaVampie How did u like it? I just got done watching season 2 and was thinking about trying out the books. 4y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @AkashaVampie I really enjoyed them! With the first one I had to go back a few times to keep everyone straight. But once I got the who's who down it was a blast. I'm not sure how it compares to the series, but I'm all fired up to watch it now. 4y
AkashaVampie @Enchanted_Bibliophile my son was looking it up the whole time we were watching it. There is some differences.. characters are different. Cha-cha and Hazel are in the first season and more humanized. The commission is less shadowy. Ben (monster) is more in the show. 4y

It sounds awesome! 😊
Definitely my next series to binge watch.

Yeah I binged this last week so it's stuck in my head. Book and TV show.

Song - Umbrella by Rhiana but as preformed on lip sync battle.

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm The husband and I just started watching that and as soon as I found out it was a graphic novel, I rushed to add it to my TBR! 😅 The show is so amazing!! 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick The Lip Sync Battle version of Umbrella is one of my favorite videos ever. ❤❤❤ 4y

The art is dazzling and the plot embraces even more of its bonkers nature, taking The Umbrella Academy in its own unique direction away from being a derivative and helping it stand on its own powerful legs.

Overall I found this pretty confusing. The story cut back and forth between characters a lot and the story itself was confusing. There really isn't much of a link with the first two. The art was pretty but the drawing style made it hard to know what was happening. Has anyone else read this and felt that way?

I‘ve managed to finish a book this week. This is a huge feat considering that I have felt like utter crap all week long.

#bookreport time! I:

• reread THE RAVEN KING (😭) and HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE (🎧👍)
• read and enjoyed OVER THE TOP and UNTOUCHABLE
• read some COMICS!!!! I enjoyed Mr & Mrs X, revelled in the Umbrella Academy‘s weirdness, struggled a bit with Domino due to the script/art divide I so often see from Simone, and bailed on Batgirl two issues in.
• I plan to start CDTH tonight, but it‘s daunting so I might wait until tomorrow.

Cinfhen Save daunting for daytime 😂 5y

Due to the break this took some getting back in to. I was slightly confused at first but by the midway point things really picked up. I flew through that last half. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and that ending?!

I love The Umbrella Academy so much! I‘ve watched the series so many times (Hello Robert Sheehan 🤤) and was so excited to receive part 3 in the post last week. I preordered it months ago and have been so excited to read it that I don‘t want to start it because then I‘ll finish it and have to wait for ages until part 4! These are three of the embroideries I stitched a while ago 🧵✂️☂️🤲

I always enjoy the little quotes/facts at the end of each section of The Umbrella Academy series. Now I am adding this statistic to my Ways to Randomly Die list/phobia. 😰
