I didn't like this quite a well as the last book I read by this author. I really liked the storyline and characters from the 1853 timeline but wasn't into the 1918 timeline. I wish the book had focused on the first plot and done more justice to those characters. Dividing the story meant we got the beginning of the interesting plot and the end but none of the meat in the middle. Soft pick.
Oh how I ❤️ summer & especially summer holidays. I‘ve been frying myself silly for days ☀️ & have a red bum to prove it. This is my swimming hole in my front yard & most of the time I don‘t have to share it which is fantastic. The green of the cover woman‘s dress reminds me of the brilliant green on the rocks. Much more vibrant in real life. Slippery! I hope you all had a wonderful covid Christmas & that your new year is an improvement on 2021.
This alluring historical fiction blended the perfect amount of light romance, humor, sadness and mystery to make for an endearing story that sated both my heart and my mind.
Outstanding imagery and a lovely ride.

I love opportunities to review books by authors I‘ve not previously read. Tea Cooper has written several novels, but The Woman in the Green Dress is the first one I‘ve come across. This was an opportunity to read something set in a place I was blessed to visit over 30 years ago, written by a woman who lives in and knows well the state of New South Wales.

This is a historical mystery with two timelines: 1853 and 1919. Australian author and setting!
I never could have predicted how things would play out in this story. I had some suspicions about how all of the characters were related but the big reveals were a total shock to me. I used an online map of Australia to track the characters‘ travels. Loved the author‘s note at the end detailing how much of this story is based on truth.
Has anyone noticed the green dress trend on book covers? Has this always been a thing - I feel like I‘m seeing green dresses everywhere all of a sudden. Gorgeous artwork but who or what started it? 🤔💚
