Vanishing Throne: Book Two of the Falconer Trilogy
Vanishing Throne: Book Two of the Falconer Trilogy | Elizabeth May
The second book in the Falconer trilogy is packed with surprises and suspense. Aileana Cameron, the Falconer, disappeared through the portal that she was trying to close forever. Now she wakes up in the fae world, trapped and tortured by the evil Lonnrach. With the help of an unexpected ally, Aileana re-enters the human world, only to find everything irrevocably changed. Edinburgh has been destroyed, and the few human survivors are living in an uneasy truce with the fae, while both worlds are in danger of disappearing altogether. Aileana holds the key to saving both worlds, but in order to do so she must awaken her latent Falconer powers. And the price of doing that might be her life. Rich with imaginative detail, action, fae lore, and romance, The Vanishing Throne is a thrilling sequel to The Falconer.

After two weeks, I've finally finished it! I really enjoyed the overall storyline in this one, but compared to the first book I felt it was a bit slow at the start, however it soon picked up. I really enjoyed the meaning of the book and the character development Aileana goes through to deal with everything that has happened, she truly is the embodiment of a badass. The romance was sweet and the action continued, cant wait to read book 3 soon❤

I just finished this last night and really enjoyed it. If The Falconer was Scottish steampunk with fairies, The Vanishing Throne was more Scottish post apocalyptic...with fairies. Post faepocalypse? Is that a thing? It is now. So yes, a bit darker than the first book but with the welcome addition of Kiaran's somewhat crazy sister for humour and feels. I'm excited to pick up the third book!

I loved the first book and I loved this even more. I can't wait to see what happens in the third book. I have a dream to visit Scotland one day and this series' setting may be my favorite thing about it.

I loved The Falconer and this was a great follow up! The writing was exquisite and the characters were awesome along with the swoons but I felt a disconnect I think because it took so long for this one to find out! I hope we don't have to wait so long for book 3 or I might not remember to read it.

Very interesting ending and I look forward to seeing how the story continues. Cannot wait for the next book! FYI this pic is the last page so don't read if you don't want spoilers.
