I tried this show on Neflix, but it was too gory for my taste.

Anyone else try it? Thoughts?

BooksNBowls I liked it, but felt like they didn‘t introduce the world well enough. It was too rushed. I was confused about the different species, rules of magic, etc. I guess I need the read the book though. Is it any good? 4y

AllisonM89 One episode left to watch and we are really enjoying it. I like their take on Merlin and think it's a welcome variation to the arthurian saga. It took a few episodes to get into the show and there's a few things i take issue with, but overall, i do really enjoy it. Didn't know there was a book - will have to look it up 4y

CrowCAH @Kimberlone yeah, I felt it was a surface story, never quite getting a good feel for each character, but then again I only watched episode one. 4y

CrowCAH @BooksNBowls maybe that was it, a new world and not quite knowing what it‘s all about. I haven‘t read the book, just noticed via the credits that it was based off the book. 4y

CrowCAH @AllisonM89 glad to hear you like it. Initially I was going to give it another episode, because first episodes can be rough as their building characters and world, but after how I felt I‘m just not going to watch it anymore. If you watch the credits, it states based on the book; you‘ll have to compare once you read it. 4y

Darklunarose @CrowCAH fingers crossed. My husband gave up on the shadow hunters a while back and I‘m barely making an episode every few weeks to try and finish it lol! Took me a year to watch Locke and key. Mostly I watch tv at night when hubby has time. 4y

Darklunarose @CrowCAH in Australia it‘s Netflix...I think it‘s a Netflix original...but be warned they deviate SOOOO much from the books! 4y
