“When you said my name... the stone within me suffered a crack. And I don't regret that it did, because I had forgotten how vital it is to be known for who you are, and not for who you pretend to be. I had forgotten how good it is to be seen, even with flaws and scars. I wanted you to see me.”
"It will make you colder. But even the deepest of ice eventually gives way to fire, Clementine."
“In a world where you can choose anger or empathy, always choose empathy,”
This was my first Abby Jimenez book, and it certainly won‘t be my last. Instantly she can do no wrong, and she‘s one of my favourite authors. Everything about this book was done perfectly.

I know people have loved this book and I‘m in the minority, but I am really only reading this series for the MMC. I want him to find his happily ever after. I don‘t like the FMC and I didn‘t like how this second book of the trilogy ended.
Despite all my moaning‘s and groaning‘s, I will finish the series.
Unpopular opinion but I guess I was looking for more. I know this author has other books, I will definitely try another but I found this book to be just okay. I wasn‘t really moved by it. It‘s not terrible, it can be a quick read, and many have given it high ratings. I was just wanting something more. It was a bit predictable, repetitive, and a tad cliche. Hopefully my next read by this author goes better.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
There was so much in this story that felt totally brand new. The nightmare wardens and the wraiths from the mountain kingdom, especially.
Though, for all the ground it had to cover, I do feel like it dragged in the middle and then raced to the end.
It wasn‘t as good as Divine Rivals, but I will gladly read all of Ross‘ work.
