The Curse of Penryth Hall | Jess Armstrong
Pickpick

This gothic historical fiction novel was different from what I expected. Ruby Vaughan works for a book seller. She‘s asked to deliver a trunk of books to a man in Cornish. The man seems to be sort of a male witch (called a Pellar.) He makes salves and other concoctions which help people/animals recover when sick. The countryside is beautiful but a killer looms in the area. I enjoyed the book. 3.75/5

Dreams Lie Beneath | Rebecca Ross

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)

I fell in love with Rebecca Ross‘ writing last year with “Divine Rivals”, and my recent read of “A River Enchanted” and “A Fire Endless” were no exceptions. “Dreams Lie Beneath” continued this trend, and I really enjoyed the writing, story, characters and world-building. Bonus points for a beautiful book map as well!

A Curse For True Love | Stephanie Garber
Mehso-so

Star-crossed lovers at its finest! However, very little interaction between the love pair.
The villains felt flat.
The narrative style again was again top of "once upon a time".
I expected so much more from the epilogue- after all Jacks and Evangeline have been through!

Cheddar cheese fudge?
Who thinks it sounds good?

Think it or any food that glows in the dark make my list of fears.

Therewillbebooks Oh man. I'd try it but with some hesitation 1mo
vlwelser Try it. But also cheese shouldn't be that color imo. 1mo
CatLass007 @Therewillbebooks @vlwelser I‘ll try it as long as y‘all are trying it at the same time. Safety in numbers. (edited) 1mo

Man, you know a book‘s good when you look up and realize you don‘t know how much time has passed. This book was incredible. It‘s by far the best book I‘ve read this year, no doubt. I‘m always down for a queer pirate book, especially one that features a transmasc pirate with magic and a plot to kill le Diablo. This book was so good! 5🌟🏳️‍⚧️

Yeah, this was written for those like me, the childlike!

Even as a kidult, this is still a wonderful read (reread) for me. Truly a magical story with beautiful illustrations.
