Skyrbright is plunged into the terrifying Underworld where demons are bred, while Stone, stripped of his immortal status, must find a way to close hell's breach before more mortals die. Meanwhile, Zhen Ni, Skybright's former mistress and friend, is now wed to the strange and brutish Master Hou, and she finds herself trapped inside an opulent but empty manor. When she discovers half-eaten corpses beneath the estate, Zhen Ni worries that Master Hou is not all he seems. As Skybright begins the dangerous work of freeing Zhen Ni with the aid of Kai Sen and Stone, nothing can prepare them for an encounter so dark that it threatens to overtake their very beings.

Wonderfully imaginative with rich word building, Sacrifice wrapped up the story of Skybright and Zhen Ni well. It was bittersweet, but I enjoyed the story a great deal. I felt this one was better paced than the first book.

LuLeeBelle @MarriedtoMrT I think there are different programs for age groups, but basically we keep an official reading log during the year and turn it in. When get a tshirt, sticker for our library card, and entered for doorprizes. I'm personally throwing a pizza party for my friends a la the BookIt program from the 80's and 90's. 8y

I read Serpentine at the start of the year, and now it's finally time to see 2016 out with it's sequel! You guys, Cindy Pon loves her fans - pick up her books. The world needs more diverse books, I really believe that. Which is why I had my library order it. Hopefully the right kid will find these books while bored and browsing 😀
