pickThis is the first in a trilogy about the decline of Ancient Egypt. The main character is purchased from her Thracian mother who cannot survive and feed her remaining children otherwise, to a man who wants to educate and develop her into a consort for Egypt‘s wealthy men. Fortunately her “work” is never described in detail. My only complaint is that the reason the MC‘s only friend turns against her is beyond the MC‘s control. Interesting read.
