Duke Is Mine
Duke Is Mine | Eloisa James

Eloisa James is extraordinary. Lisa KleypasIn the capable hands of USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James, the fairy tales we loved as children take on vibrant and sensuous new life. With The Duke is Mine, the beloved author of A Kiss at Midnight and When Beauty Tamed the Beast gives the classic tale of the Princess and the Pea a delightfully romantic Regency spin. Fans of Victoria Alexander and Julia Quinn will simply adore this historical romance gem about a lady reluctantly betrothed to one duke but pursued by another; a tantalizing tale of love, lies, and one very uncomfortable mattress."

#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks And part of NEWTs Magical Readathon YouTuber BookRoast. Career=Metal Charmer, class=charms Grade A= humorous book. 3rd book in this series. From ok to so-so in comparison with the other 2. It is a retelling of The Princess and the Pea which is explained by Olivia in page 289. Funny, sexy, sad in one part, didn't like 2 parts related with disability & family relations, super cheesy, I love you phrase 1,000 times🙄3⭐️

Bland, meandering plot. Barely adequate writing.

Begrudging pick, this was a retelling of the Princess and the Pea and the story was so convoluted. But I liked the MCs - @EloisaJames writes fantastic curvy, intelligent, irreverent women. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Dogearedcopy Is this the one that starts in a French prison cell during the Revolution? 6y
Owlizabeth @Dogearedcopy No, that sounds intriguing! This was about twins and one was betrothed to a duke since birth, but they go to a different duke‘s house for the second sister to try for a betrothal but the first sister and the second duke fall in love. It‘s...a lot. 6y

I just love the fanciful names in this book that's part of Eloisa James's fairy tale series. This one references the princess and the pea, and has a wonderful bawdy, irreverent, curvy heroine. A very enjoyable read!

I think @EloisaJames has met my husband and I 😂I‘m the one who dissects jokes. Change science out for reading and you have my husband. We may be an #unlikelycouple but the ladies at our diner still say we‘re their favorite couple ☺️

EloisaJames Good for you, because I love this hero! 7y
heikemarie @EloisaJames Thank you 😉 I‘ve particularly loved the heroes in this series, but he‘s my favorite so far! Him and Piers 🤓 7y
EloisaJames Huh! The sardonic joker and the anti-joke man! Interesting. 😘 7y

BekaReid Judith Flanders' The Invention of Murder is quite interesting; and I enjoyed The Three Body Problem, which offered some great insight in Chinese history and cultural revolution. 7y
LauraBrook @BekaReid Those two are at the top of my list! Glad to hear you liked them both! 7y

This was another fairy tale retelling with the Eloisa James twist to it.
At first I thought I would not like it: arranged marriage between a very intelligent woman and a mentally challenged younger man. Of course EJ put a spin on it and came to a satisfying conclusion, including the minor characters.
My favourite, so far.

@EloisaJames I love your sense of humour. I need to remember not to drink hot beverages while reading your novels, I tend to snort into them or splutter them all over me. (I would certainly make a great character in one of your stories. 😉)

I've shamelessly used this blurb to show you part of my recently finished knitting project. #SorryNotSorry
