The Facts in the Case of the Departure of Miss Finch
The Facts in the Case of the Departure of Miss Finch | Neil Gaiman
13 posts | 18 read | 22 to read
Come and hear of the terrible tale of Miss Finch, an exacting woman befallen by mystery and abduction deep under the streets of London! Join a group of friends, with the stern Miss Finch in tow, as they enter musty caverns for a subterranean circus spectacle called "The Theatre of Night's Dreaming." Step inside, get out of the pounding rain, and witness this strange world of vampires, ringmasters, illusions, and the Cabinet of Wishes Fulfill'd. New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman and his longtime collaborator Michael Zulli (Creatures of the Night, The Sandman) deliver This "mostly true story", combining Gaiman's trademark magic realism with Zulli's sumptuous paintings, newly re-designed for this beautiful new edition!

I‘m so glad this was one of my #Roll100 books this month! It‘s been on my shelves forever but I‘d basically stopped seeing it, and it was fantastic! It‘s a quick read, but it contains an entire world. I got totally swept away, and that feeling of complete absorption has been really rare for me lately. Gaiman wrote himself into this, which made it light and funny, and the art was sublime which is always a big draw for me. @PuddleJumper

I turned a page in the middle of this and found my favorite childhood bookmark!!!! I hadn‘t seen it in years so I just assumed it was lost or given away or something… Faded after many years of use, I picked up this painted green velvet suede piece on my first trip to Israel in the early nineties.

Pageturner1 that‘s awesome. beautiful bookmark. 2y
Deblovestoread I love that! And am hoping for the same surprise someday. I‘ve missed placed a bookmark my daughter gave me from her 8th grade trip. She‘s almost 34 now. If I could just remember what book I was reading the last time I saw it….😂🤦🏻‍♀️ 2y
IndoorDame @Deblovestoread I‘m hoping it returns to you! 🤞🏼🙏❤️ 2y

Between a pick and a pass for me. I did love the artwork, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend it.

This was a most interesting graphic novel. I don't consider it one of Gaiman's best works, but it is Neil Gaiman, so it is better than the average author. The art is lovely. I recommend, if you want to read everything by this author.

Cinfhen It must be mad if Neil Gaiman wrote it! 8y

I love Dark Horse Comics! In this Neil Gaiman story the narrator stumbles upon a secret subterranean circus full of vampires, illusions and mystery. Creepy!

crc Sounds like a really awesome read! 8y
