LauraBrook I love rats! Way back in high school we had pet rats in biology, and I took them home to care for them some weekend. They were so friendly and affectionate and clean - I just loved them! 8y

The stunning, unusual About a Girl by Sarah McCarry. Myth, magic, and bicoastal comings of age. Reviewed on my blog!

It took a while to get used to the style in this one but eventually I flowed through it. Perhaps a bit more advanced than your typical ya but recommended!

This book caught me off guard several times with little surprises. I liked the story and characters, and the twisting of the plot. I liked the contrast between Tally's home life in NYC, and the country she got to experience on her journey. And of course crows are always a plus!

Bette Crows sound intriguing. 😃 9y

Library holds came in, and I had a few, so I'm setting aside my current read to dig into this.
Yes those are naked kitty toes in the corner. The rest of him is under the blankie 😊.

Library-Belle So excited to see what you think about this one! 9y
kspenmoll Sounds intriguing. Keep us posted. 9y
Soubhiville @Library-Belle @kspenmoll the language took a bit to get used too, the main character is highly intelligent and a astrology major. So it's a bit of a tougher read than your typical YA. But I'm 90 pages in and really liking it! 9y

I absolutely adored this book.... Finally a book with LGBT relationships in it where it was woven in naturally instead of forced upon the reader... There was even a mix of magic but the underlying themes of home, self identity, and family were never lost. I want to lose myself in this story over and over again.

A fun Friday photo for @Liberty who has seen this - and most of my pictures of Halo interrupting and/or supporting my reading - before! It was hard to pick but I had to go for the book in which I (kind of) (briefly) appear as a character. ♥️
