The Survival of Molly Southbourne
The Survival of Molly Southbourne | Tade Thompson
8 posts | 9 read | 3 to read
Tade Thompson returns to his "bloody exploration of of identity and self in a changed world" (Publishers Weekly) in The Survival of Molly Southbourne. Who was Molly Southbourne? What did she leave behind? A burnt-out basement. A name stained in blood. Bodies that remember murder, one of them left alive. A set of rules that no longer apply. Molly Southbourne is alive. If she wants to survive, she'll need to run, hide, and be ready to fight. There are people who remember her, who know what she is and what she's done. Some want her alive, some want her dead, and all hold a piece to the puzzles in her head. Can Molly escape them, or will she confront the bloody history that made her? At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

The Survival of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson is the amazing follow up to one of my all time favorite novellas, The Murders of Molly Southbourne. It‘s another tale that is filled with life, death, and lots of blood, but this time, we finally learn more about Molly‘s condition.

“They are treating my spilled blood with chemicals because they think it will grow duplicates. It will not. Duplicates are sterile... Drones have no fear of laying eggs.”

The second book is not as good as the first but still pretty damn good.

I highly recommend these books for anyone who likes #weirdfiction

I didn‘t like this one *quite* as much as the first book in the series, but it was still enjoyable. Molly is now out in the world, trying to figure out how to survive after escaping.

Loved the first book, where Molly has murderous doppelgangers spring up every time she bleeds. Do not look at review until you've read the first adrenaline fueled novella (both books are barely over a hundred pages, READ them if you're at all into speculative)

LauraJ I loved the first book and hope to get to this one soon. 5y

MY RATING⇢ 3 STARS | GRADE C
The first book introduced a very disturbing story...that quite literally blew my mind with its sheer craziness. Unfortunately, the second book felt a little like he didn't really know where he wanted to go with the story...almost as if he was never really planning on continuing the story at all. Like an idea that never fully formed.
