From the bestselling author of Me Before You and two-time winner of the RNA Novel of the Year award. Merham is a well-ordered 1950s seaside town: the kind of town in which everyone knows their place (and those who don't are promptly put in it). Lottie Swift, an evacuee who has grown up with the respectable Holden family, loves Merham, while the Holdens' daughter Celia chafes against the constraints of the town. When a group of bohemians takes over Arcadia, a stark Art Deco house on the seafront, the girls are as drawn to its temptations as Merham's citizens are appalled by them. They set in place a chain of events both within the Holden family and Merham itself which will have longstanding and tragic consequences for all concerned. Now, almost fifty years on, Arcadia is returning to life, and its inhabitants stirring up strong feelings again. And prompting more than one person to look into their own romantic history and ask: Can you ever leave your past behind?

Jojo Moyes is such a good writer but this one was just OK for me. I know she has written some popular books and I've enjoyed what I have read from her before so I'm not put off of reading what else she's written.

I love how JoJo weaves past and present together in her stories.

Moln över Arcadia är den svenska titeln! Läs!
Är helt inne i Jojo Moyes olika världar, så skönt att resa bort i fantasin när vintern inte vill ge sig av 😉

Thrift store book haul. My daughters is on the left(some of hers were Christmas gifts) and mine is on the right. While in the store my daughter asked “mommy do you think I have enough books in my cart?” To which I replied “you can never have enough books” 😝

Clwojick I really enjoyed plain truth. 7y
TheSketchyReader Oooo I spy with my little eye The Mortal Instruments! 7y
bookcaterpillar_89 @Clwojick I‘ve only ever read one of her books and I loved it. Now I own quite a few lol 7y
bookcaterpillar_89 @TheSketchyReader I‘ve never read them but I‘m trying new genres of books and saw these for 50 cents each so I had to grab them! 7y
TheSketchyReader @bookcaterpillar_89 I love them! It and Cassandra Clare‘s Infernal Devices are my two favorite YA series. 7y

This was the first Jojo Moyes book I've read. I know, I know, I haven't read Me Before You yet!?! I really liked her style of writing. I'm always a sucker for a book that goes between the past and the present. The characters were wonderfully written and relatable. I especially loved Daisy and her growth and developing through the book.

Not my favourite Jojo Moyes book. I felt like something was missing (or maybe I missed something). I think I'm going to catch up on some TV watching now (This Is Us), if I can get my spot back from Mr Ace, stealer of spots.

Alfoster Oh how I LOVE This is Us❤❤❤!! 8y
Tanner @Alfoster I know, right‽ Great show! I even have the BF hooked on it - he's making popcorn now and we're going to catch up on the last two episodes. 8y
Alfoster I'll be right over!😂😂😂 I'm caught up. You can never predict what's going to happen! Enjoy! 8y
Tanner @Alfoster Awww, sorry, I ate all the popcorn! ?I was yelling at the tv, "Don't go to cabin 13!" 8y

Not my favorite of her stories but still good. I listened to this on audio and really enjoyed the narrator. I can't say I loved all the characters or the choices they made, but I did enjoy how the past and the present storylines came together and how the main characters' storylines wrapped up. If you enjoy Jojo Moyes it's definitely worth a read/listen to.

Jojo Moyes has done it again! I love her books, her way with words and the way she builds up a story. She is a magician and I love it!

I didn't get into any of the characters and it just felt a little flat.
