This maybe wasn't overall as awesome as I first thought it would be but this was still really entertainig read and I had fun time with it.

Unfortunately characters were a bit cliche even though I liked how misfortune followed Mina everywhere at the beginning. She was easy to relate to. I really loved how fairy tales came alive in modern world! I somehow love that always and it made this book as well feel magical.

3.2⭐️ A cute twist on Grimm fairytales but not quite what I expected. Not bad, but not sure if I‘m going to be continuing the series

This book starts out very slow, but as the series continues it becomes so amazing. Every childhood tale comes to life in this series❤️❤️

I really wanted to like this book but the writing was just horrible. There was way too many details. The story was cute and has potential. I am curious where this is going and will most likely read the other ones in the series.

This is a fast read with a great premise that fell a little flat. Of course, all books are worth reading by the right person, but I will say that it's an interesting twist on the old fairytale canon. If you like young adult fairytale retellings, then you might like this one. It‘s on the younger end of the spectrum. Definitely"clean" fantasy.

What about you? What's the last fairytale retelling you read?

I‘m going to recommend this even though I only made it 3/4 through. (I know! Sorry!) I thought the premise was super original and fun and perfect for teens—-I only stopped reading due to that. I couldn‘t handle that teenage predictability. But I know it‘s perfect for that age group.

The premise of this reminded me much of the show Grimm. Except it involved teens and what you'd hope would be fun antics and funny jokes. The problem was it wasn't that fun or funny. Mina was kind of a bummer of a heroine and not that interesting. The writing also needed some editing. I pushed to the end, but I didn't really want to spend any more time on the writing or characters. I'd rather just rewatch Grimm.

Really want to get some reading in- I have a super busy day tomorrow, but I need some down time and this is a favorite comfort read (six days, 55 hours of work and back on Friday). Big problem is I only have this series in ebook, and it's hard on my poor eyes 🤓☹️

Jlee745 I really enjoyed this book. Of course like every other YA the main character has two male co-characters. 8y

While the writing irritated me and the editing was basically non-existent, the book had some redeeming qualities. The twist near the end pulled at my heartstrings and the overall fairytale concept was interesting. A decent light read but I probably won't bother finishing the series.

For my upcoming move overseas (where I can't afford to pay for extra baggage to haul my books with me!) my mum has gifted me her old Kindle! This is my first official ebook read.. Not sure how I feel about it yet (the book or e-reading!)
