Wow. Rampant domestic abuse. Kidnapping. Spousal rape. Sincerely gross chid abuse. An absolutely WTAF ending, but not in a good way in my opinion. This was our FOTL book this month. I started reading it but had to switch to audio to get through it by the meeting. Rather clever but the ‘ick‘ factor was too high for the lack of realistic payoff in the ending. I‘m not a prude by any means but gratuitous shock is not my jam either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I thought I figured out the big twist a little about half way through, then thought it would be too “twisted” to be right. But, turns out I was right. 😳

Taking these physical books, and a Kindle full for a week long family beach vacation. About an 10 to 11 hour long drive each way, so I should have plenty to read.

Holy crap. I don‘t even know how to rate this book. It was so dark and so messed up. I don‘t think I would recommend it to anyone. It‘s too dark and weird. I was also really bored and hated everyone the first like 50%. Then all of a sudden it picked up and I had to finish the book. Though I still hated everyone.

A lot of trigger warnings. A range of child abuse and domestic violence.

I definitely need a palate cleanser now.

TWISTS! SHOCKING! An unlikeable MC that goes from 6 to 36 finds herself in worsening unbelievable predicaments ... everything was so well woven because even though I knew it was coming ... “he lost his head” just killed me 😆 This is 10 steps beyond improbable. A train wreck I obviously couldn‘t look away from. Dark. Creepy. Sometimes I Lie was better.

This book had an interesting twist.

I... don‘t know what to say about this book. It dragged on the first 150 pages, finally got interesting, and then pulled a sharp 180. It left me with all the wtf and icky feelings. I loved Sometimes I Lie & the style of writing but this was totally different for me. It was a huge letdown & I‘m honestly disappointed I got it at full price when it came out instead of waiting for it to hit Book Outlet. 2⭐️ which I almost feel is too generous a rating

I must be in a slump... I loved Sometimes I Lie and the style of writing, but this one has been dragging for me. I haven‘t been able to finish it yet 😑😑😑 I‘m hoping to get it done today since I had to stay home with LO. Fingers crossed I can do it!

I'm glad that I chose the audiobook. This was soooooo good. It was cruel, but good. It took me a few days to listen mostly because of what it entailed. I didn't try to figure out the ending and I would have gotten it wrong anyway. Her first book was good too.

I recommend this book for anyone who‘s into Thrillers!
First time in a long time I‘ve read a book and not figured out the twist or ending before it happens!
