This is my favourite book in the whole series, not before or since (I'm up to book 11) did any of the books entice me like this one.

It's not just that we learn the why behind Will and Amanda. It's the whole book. Everything from the compelling plot, the dual time lines, the characters, the writing, the style, and the pacing. Everything is just right.

Sace Can you read the Will Trent books out of order or is it best to read them in order? 2w
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Sace If like me you like to see how the characters grow and change then in order. But every book has its own story, so you can read them separately. If your objective is to see you like Slaughter's work, I would recommend reading a standalone like False Witness. 2w
Sace Thanks for the recommendation. I might try the standalone first. 2w

I‘m such a huge fan of Karin Slaughter. I think I‘ve rated every book of hers with five stars. Criminal is the sixth installment in the Will Trent series and it‘s DEEP! This novel tells the tale of Will Trent‘s birth and parentage in a way I never expected. This is a fascinating book!

Next audible and a photo of the yurt I stayed in.

monkeygirlsmama Love the TV show, but never have read any of her books. Will have to at some point. 👍 And that yurt looks stupid awesome! 💗 7mo

Shemac77 The tv show is pretty great and the books are just fantastic! The yurt was incredible! @monkeygirlsmama 7mo
Shemac77 @AkashaVampie it‘s basically an upscale tent. I believe they were used in Mongolia. They‘re much bigger and more home like; however they‘re still basically a tent. 7mo
Shemac77 It was so cozy! Once the wet wood caught and I could make a comfortable bank of coals…. @Cathythoughts 7mo

Bk12 of July & Bk4 of #JubilantJuly #readathon is done. The 6th Will Trent book was heartbreaking. Set in both 1974-5 & the present, it‘s both a story of Amanda & Evelyn‘s start as cops(and her old gal network!)& it‘s the story of how Will came to be. Of his mothers awful death & why Amanda knows so much about him. One of my favourites. #BookspinBingo #SeriesLove2023

TheSpineView Fantastic! 1y
Andrew65 Excellent, yes many of her books in these series can be totally heartbreaking. 1y

Sometimes just a simple shower can make you feel a bit better. Plus it makes me nicer to live with! About halfway through Bk4 of my #JubilantJuly #readathon Yes I went with another reread instead of my ridiculous #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom Can books stare at you reproachfully?👀🫣

Andrew65 Yes they can, many of mine shout at me as I walk down the stairs to remind me they are still there 😩🙈
Amazing the effect a nice shower can have. 🚿

6th in the Will Trent series

When a local college student goes missing, Will is inexplicably kept off the case by his supervisor and mentor, deputy director Amanda Wagner. Will cannot fathom Amanda's motivation until the two of them literally collide in an abandoned orphanage they have both been drawn to for different reasons.

#SeriesRead2021 @TheSpineView

In this book Slaughter goes back in the past to clear up some loose story lines that were brought up in the previous book.

I didn't think I would like this one at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites. Criminal addresses a lot of issues female cops and detectives face in the workplace. As usual this one had graphic crimes with good twists to the outcome.

Slaughter is a master of this genre.

TheSpineView Great job! 👍📖 3y
